How is Cleopatra similar to Marie Antoinette?

Cleopatra was a Queen of Eygpt, famous for her love affair with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony, she is also the main character in Shakespeare's "Antony and Cleopatra"

Marie Antoinette, was Austrian Born, but married the Dauphin of France, and became the Queen of France, she was arrested for running away with her family and beheaded, and therefore was the last Queen of France!

Both were female leaders that were murdered or died prematurely because of a misunderstanding. Both saw the fall of their dynasties just before they died.

Differences are more obvious.

1. Cleopatra was not murdered; she killed herself.
2. Marie-Antoinette was executed after due process of law for a treason of which she was guilty.
3. Cleopatra was the actual ruler of Egypt, whereas M-A was just married to the King of France.
