Actually, air pollution (as we know it today) has improved over the last century.
Coal, steel, and industries that burned fossil fuels to produce their products used to emit such heavy smoke and toxins into the air that areas looked covered in fog, but it was vapors of pollution trapped near the ground. This continued at least into the 1970s in many areas. Then, governmental entities enacted Clear Air acts and penalties against polluting industrustries. Some countries though still have considerable pollution (ex. Asian countries) because they still rely on coal, which is one of the most available fuels worldwide.
Historically and currently, though, volcanic eruptions still contribute to air pollution. The summer of 1814 had snow, failed crops, and many deaths because of a volcano that erupted half-way across the world. Volcanic dust can affect large areas, travel on air currents, and affect air quality, weather, and the health of crops and persons.

He failed with relations with his brother Tostig and he was unable to defeat William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings.
Both actually. but it was more affective in closer distance because the gas was more harmful. whereas if it was from long distance, the enemy would see the gas and retreat or do something to face the problem. :-)
Air pollution has been a problem since the industrial revolution in the 18th century when the burning of fossil fuels became widespread. However, it became a more significant concern in the mid-20th century with the rapid industrialization and increase in vehicle emissions.

One effect of the widespread use of plastics for packaging foods is increased environmental pollution due to the generation of plastic waste. Plastics can take hundreds of years to decompose, leading to long-term pollution of ecosystems. Additionally, there is concern about the potential health risks associated with chemicals leaching from plastics into the food they contain.
Ozone. Ozone: a form of oxygen that is a harmful component of air pollution. Ozone, the primary ingredient of smog air pollution, can impair the body's immune system and cause long term lung damage.

Air pollution is often considered more dangerous than water pollution because it can have immediate and widespread health effects, impacting respiratory and cardiovascular systems and contributing to premature deaths. Pollutants in the air can travel long distances, affecting large populations and ecosystems, while water pollution often has localized effects. Additionally, air pollution can exacerbate climate change, leading to broader environmental consequences that can indirectly harm water sources and human health. Thus, the pervasive nature of air pollution and its rapid impact on health make it particularly concerning.
Air pollution is not beneficial to our long-term health.
Ishmael Beah's memoir, A Long Way Gone, reveals the widespread problem of child soldier recruitment and the devastating effects of war on children in Sierra Leone. Beah exposes the brutal reality of being forced to become a child soldier and the psychological trauma that accompanies such experiences. His memoir highlights the urgent need for international attention and support to address the issue of child soldiering worldwide.
