About the same as it is now. By 1999, floppy disk drives had been commoditized, so they really couldn't have been made much cheaper.

What is the age of Roman Colosseum?

The Colosseum was first being constructed during 70 and 72 AD under the Roman Empire Vespasian and was completed in 80 AD under Titus. That would currently make the Roman Colosseum between 1,930 and 1,940 years old. That makes it one od the world's most well-known land marks because of its age and suprisingly good condition.

What is function of floppy connectors?

Floppy connectors are used to transfer data between a floppy drive and a computer via motherboard, in order to use a floppy disk. They are very similar to IDE cables, but are a little smaller, and are exclusively for floppy drives.

Can you use a standard floppy drive to run a high density disk?

That would depend on what you mean by "standard." All drives made in last 20 years or so have supported HD (1.44 MB) disks.

Is hard disk install with floppy cable?

Not in a computer that featured a floppy drive as standard. Computers with floppy drives (4 years old or older) used 34-pin connectors for the floppies and 40-pin (PATA or IDE) cables for the hard drives. Modern computers use Serial ATA, and some SATA floppy drives are available, but they are not common.

When do you use a floppy disk?

Rarely because they are considered obsolete. No computer built today includes a floppy disk drive or controller. You would have to buy an external one that could be connected to your computer by USB to be able to use a floppy disk (and these are getting harder and harder to find).

3 of your floppy drives have stoped working at first they will display the message this floppy disk is not formated but later they will just say that the floppy drive is not ready and not read any dis?

Dont discount the idea that your disks may be bad. Floppy disks have been around a long time and disks which are more than a couple years old may no longer be readable. To test this theory, get some new floppies & format them with the new drive. Put some data on there & see if you can retrieve it. If this doesnt work, then yes, you probably have a bad floppy drive (or drives). Note, it is an easy mistake to make to put the ribbon cable on backwards. If the light on the drive comes on & stays on even when there is no disk, that is a sure sign that the ribbon cable is on backwards.

If it were possible how many years would it take to drive to Jupiter?

How long does a 1 GB Lexar SD card last?

Electronic equipment can last for years if stored with moisture absorbing material, and away from electrostatic contact. The biggest problem is with retrieval, for example data stored on floppy discs is difficult to retrieve simply because computers are sold without a floppy drive.

Differences between a floppy disk and a hard disk?

A floppy disk is a flexible and magnetic data storage system that is removable from the computer that can store up to 3 megabytes of data. A hard disk on the other hand is the main place that a computer stores data. It is a rotating disk that uses magnetic patterns to store data. Floppy disks have been replaced by USB flash drives. These days (2012) you will not find many floppy disks (although just a couple of years ago we had to order special floppy drives for a server because some software would only be installed if it booted from Drive: A a floppy). There were 8 inch and 5 inch and 31/2 inch floppy disks which were common. The latest (diskettes) were the smallest and were protected by a hard plastic casing. Inside a thin Mylar disk coated with a magnetic surface stored the 1.44 Mb that was the capacity of most diskettes. Hard disks have one or more aluminium or glass disks coated with magnetic surfaces. These hold much more information and now (2012) there are units that can store 3Tb or more.

How many floppy disks will be equivalent to a hard disk of 450 GB?

Its an old square disc. You must be around 14 years young!

What are the advantages or disadvantages of the belt drive?

The advantage of having a belt drive is that you don't have to worry about the chain coming off. The disadvantage is that you need to replace a belt every 2 years or so.
