the south have no profits and someone needs to pick the cotton
without slavery we would have been in a recession much like today.... because people are not really trying to work
The plantation system of the south had been built on slavery, in many Southerners feared that their economy couldn't survive without it.
The issue of slavery could have been solved without war by people realizing that all people are equal no matter the color of their skin. If people realized this, then the slaves would have been let go with no problems.
It would be two countries, and the Confederate States of America would have been pressured by other trading nations into ending slavery within about one generation.
Well, by 1930 slavery had ended in almost every country. The UK France,Spain, the US and so on. Most of these countries were in control of the slavery that was happening in south America. So, if they had ended there slavery, south America's could not have been that bad. However, that is not to say that there still wasn't slavery. There is still slavery till this day in certain countries. Was it as bad in the 1930s in south America no, did it still exists, probably.

Could the colonies labor problem have been solved without slavery?
The economy wouldn't have been so prosperous, and production would have been much lower than it was.
if slavery was not abolished we would have slaves. Also we would have to work in other peoples houses and clean without being paid.
A major risk was that there economy would fall off the face of the earth, they lost all of their cotton production, and in fact, all of their production. without the slaves there wouldn't have been an economy in the south

I think that school are boring and i wanna go home and sleep
The South could of seceded and formed an independent nation from the North and slavery would sill be used in the South. This would of caused the United States to be weaker and have less of an advantage against other countries and also due to the fact that the North and the South would of constantly been feuding. Also, without the South's cotton, the Northern factories would of suffered and President Lincoln might not of been assassinated after the Civil War.
If the US had given up the war to keep the USA a united nation, meaning that the Confederate states won their independence, it's unlikely that slavery would have continued very much longer. It was an institution that inhibited industrial growth which would have been a goal of the new South. It was an uneconomical institution, and most historians have stated that slavery's time in the South would be aborted for economic and political reasons.
It is most likely that slavery would have continued in the southern states if they had won the Civil War, as it was a key component of the economic and social structure at that time. However, the changing attitudes towards slavery and the broader global movement towards abolition may have eventually led to its demise in the South as well.
Yes, without a doubt. Maybe the south would have won without the transportation benefits of the Erie canal, I doubt it though.
