In WWI the US produced no tanks at all, almost no bombers either, and in fact only one type of aircraft that was even close to being fit for use at the front, and it was obsolescent and almost obsolete by the time a few of them reached France. America produced practically no artillery, so all the cannon used by Americans had to be bought or borrowed from the British and French. The same with machine guns. About the only things America did produce were soldiers, uniforms to dress them, and rifles for individual soldiers to carry. Everything else American industry got started on too late, only after the US declared war, so none of those items from American industry reached large scale production in time to see service.
