They would go out on their longboats at the beginning of Spring and conquer land as well as fight and capture the locals of the land. Sometimes they would spare their captives and make them a thrall (slave).

Life for a viking child was hard but fun. At ten years old, Viking children were considered adults and worked alongside their parents. Though they worked, they still had time to play. They played games such as running and swimming games.

The vikings acted alot like the European people by the way they worked and lived. Life for viking children consists of working hard at home doing house hold work with their mothers. During this time viking children did not study. Most the parents tried to keep their children inside due to the freezing weather (other than warm weather). Usually children were considered an adult by the age of 16 years old. Some families would even get together and celebrate the gods.
