He didn't consider the harsh winters so didn't supply troops for needed equipment to survive the winters. He didn't count on the Russian people fighting as hard as they did. He spent time, money, and men to loose to Russia.

At first, it was very successful. I don't get why, many people today make it seem like the Russians defeated Hitler overnight. Because they didn't. The Soviet Red Army, got its butt handed over by the Nazis for the majority of the early invasion.

But later on, due to stupid mistakes; Hitler's dream turned into his demise.

HITLER & STALIN SIGN THE NONAGRESSION PACT - STALIN TRICKED

Hitler and Stalin signed the Nazi-Soviet Nonagression Pact; which not only promised a false-peace between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union; but also divided Poland's borders as to who would own and control who. But Joseph Stalin, was tricked.

ADOLF HITLER INVADES SOVIET TERRITORY

Joseph Stalin, refused to listen to his officers. He thought that his officers were simply crazy conspiracy theorists. Little did Stalin brutally know, that this would become a fatal mistake. Adolf Hitler, broke the Nonagression Pact and invaded the Soviet controlled territories in Poland. Eventually reaching the borders onto the Soviet Union.

SOVIETS LOSE KIEV, MINSK, KHARKIV AND OTHER KEY CITIES

The Red Army and Wehrmacht (Germany) were probably Europe's most powerful armies. The Red Army, was the world's largest army at the time and the number of men outnumbered the Wehrmacht. However, due to Stalin's failure to prepare and mobilize the army, the Soviet troops ended up getting their butts handed over during the beginning parts of the invasion. The Red Army, lost Minsk to the Nazis. So they were pushed back east. Then they lost Kiev and Kharkiv to the Nazis. The 1941 battle of Kiev, was probably one of the most brutal losses for the Red Army. The Nazis, attacked Kiev; the Red Army soldiers fought with nothing until they eventually surrendered. Millions of Red Army troops were captured as POWs. Up north in the Russian section, the Red Army lost the battles of Smolensk and Polotsk. Adolf Hitler was so successful, that his armies obliterated the Red Army defenses in the Stalin Line. This Red Army pocket, was assumabely one of the Soviet Union's best. The Soviets deseperately tried defending the Stalin Line, but simply didn't have the means. So they retreated back east.

NAZIS SIEGE STALINGRAD, LENINGRAD AND MOSCOW

Eventually, the Red Army troops would become pushed further and further east into Stalingrad because they simply could not handle the invasion. In Leningrad, the Nazis starved millions to death by cutting food supplies to the city. In Stalingrad, the Nazis did the same concept. Joseph Stalin, ordered that the Soviets would no longer retreat anywhere. Stalingrad, is where the Red Army desperately fought for their dear lives, even using unarmed troops and civilians. Suicidal charges were common, especially in Stalingrad.

NAZIS LOSE STALINGRAD AND GET PUSHED

The Nazis, were simply sick of the bloody fighting in Stalingrad. The Red Army, was just becoming too much to handle for the Nazis. They were also running out of ammunition. Back west, the brutal Russian Winter allowed the Red Army some to cut Nazi supply lines. In Stalingard, the Nazis eventually became exhausted. Too exhausted, and when they finally ran out of ammunition, they had no choice but to surrender Stalingrad. This is where the push, back into their homeland begins.

SOVIETS PUSH NAZIS AND SIEGE BERLIN

Hitler, repeated Germany's same mistake in World War I. This was, fighting a two-front war. There was not enough means, to send reinforcements or supplies to the Wehrmacht in the Soviet Union. The Red Army, continued to push the Nazis back into their German homeland. The invasion, was simply reverted and repeated in Nazi Germany. The Nazis, desperately fought and defended Berlin to the last man. Hitler claimed, that Berlin would be the German Stalingrad, but he was wrong. The Red Army, pushed all the way and raided the Reichstag eventually leading into the victory of the Russian Motherland over the German War Machine.
