Many factors led to proggressivism being an international movemet. Some of those factors are that all of the three presidents to serve in the Progressive era, were indeed very involved the the government issues. They wanted to expand their markets elsewhere and found out by doing other things in other countries that later on it would benefit society.
Progressivism.
Progressivism was often portrayed as a people's movement aimed at addressing social injustices, political corruption, and economic inequality. While it did empower various groups, including labor unions and women, it also had limitations, as some factions primarily represented middle-class interests and often excluded marginalized populations, such as African Americans and immigrants. Overall, progressivism made significant reforms but did not fully embody the inclusive ideals it espoused. Thus, while it was a movement for change, its effectiveness and representation of "the people" varied significantly.
The four goals of progressivism are to protect social welfare, promote moral improvement, create economic reform, and foster efficiency.
The muckrackers helped to reform things. For example, after writing The Jungle in 1906, Upton Sinclair directly affected the passing of the Meat Inspection Act and also the Pure Food and Drug Act.
Progressivism lost power primarily due to the onset of World War I, which shifted national priorities and diminished the focus on domestic reform efforts. Additionally, internal divisions within the movement and the rise of more conservative political forces contributed to its decline. The economic upheaval following the war and the Red Scare also shifted public sentiment away from progressive ideals, leading to a conservative backlash in the 1920s.
The decline of Progressivism as a US political movement came as the other major political groups adopted many of their platforms. The basis of progressivism was the advancement of both science and social awareness.
"The real heart of the movement is to use the government as an agency for social welfare."

The social gospel movement contributed to progressivism by advocating for social justice and the application of Christian principles to address social issues. It emphasized the importance of tackling poverty, inequality, and other social problems through reform efforts and humanitarian work. The movement inspired progressive activists to promote social change and welfare reforms in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The movement of people within their own country is called internal migration, while the movement across international borders is called international migration.
