There life's was indeed very different. A boy from Athens use to live it life in a more "city" environment people from Athen was more the kind of a socialist oppose to Sparta which used to be like a "fortress". They was taking their child's in places like war camps with in the city at a very young age in order to be trained so they will grow and be strong proud warriors of Sparta. There they would learn how to fight and eat food which would taste horrible just to get used in case of wars the food name was (Μελανα ζομον) in greek.
Sparta.
Spartans
Education In Sparta wanted a strong army, they had boys at the age of seven move into military housed called barracks. They also taught them how to read. Athens education was different, only boys with wealthy families could go to school and learn, they prepared them to be good citizens and studied many things, like math, reading etc.
Both were strictly ruled - Sparta was a limited democracy, Athens for a time became a radical democracy. Spartan citizens devoted their time to military training as they had a serf population to support them, Athenians did part-time military training only as they had to earn a living.

Sparta.
Both.
In Athens, boys focused on education, arts, and civic engagement, while in Sparta, boys were trained for military service from a young age. Athenian boys had more freedom and could participate in democratic processes, whereas Spartan boys were raised in a strict, militaristic environment with an emphasis on discipline and physical training.
I dont know what boys were but women had no rights in Athens and in Sparta they did.
Sparta focused more on military training and physical conditioning for boys from a young age, while Athens emphasized a broader education including subjects like math, philosophy, and arts. Therefore, Athens provided a more well-rounded education for boys compared to Sparta.
Athens
The government in Sparta was that unhealthy babies were to be killed and young boys were sent to the army. In athens they created a democracy. In Sparta they were ruled by two kings until they died and in athen they were ruled by archons
Sparta only focused on strength reading writing if this had nothing to due with a good military they wouldn`t be there. Athens though was about the Arts so building writing Darma and such was more there focus
Most boys had better education than military skillls
