The Battle of Britain was significant to Canada as it marked the first major military engagement for Canadian forces in World War II, with the Royal Canadian Air Force contributing significantly to the Royal Air Force's efforts. Approximately 1,000 Canadians served in the battle, and their participation helped solidify Canada's role as a key ally in the war. This involvement fostered a sense of national pride and identity, reinforcing Canada's commitment to the Allied cause and laying the groundwork for its post-war military and diplomatic relations.

The Battle of Britain was and still is the largest aircraft battle that happened between Britain along with Canada against Germany and Italy. This battle lasted from the 10th of July to the 31st of October 1940. In this battle the German Luftwaffe tried in vain to bomb Britain into submission whilst facing an out numbered Royal Air Force... However the Royal Air Force was a far better fighting force than the Luftwaffe and there for crushed the Luftwaffe, a blow that Germany never recovered from. In this battle Great Britain and Canada lost 544 men along with 1547 aircraft where as Germany and Italy lost 2698 men and 1887 aircraft.
