During the Revolutionary War, the treatment of Black individuals varied significantly, with some fighting for both the British and American forces. Many enslaved Blacks sought freedom by joining the British Army, which promised emancipation as a reward for their service. Conversely, some free Blacks fought for the Patriots, believing in the ideals of liberty and equality. However, despite their contributions, both free and enslaved Blacks faced systemic racism and were often denied full rights and recognition after the war.
The Patriots wanted a revolutionary war because they believed the colonies were not treated fairly by the British crown.
Discrimination existed within military policies. Black leaders continued to fight discrimination during the war. Blacks were not treated equally within the military.

Because in Georgia the blacks had to sit in the back of the bus and the whites got to sit up front
20 percent of Americans at the time of the Revolutionary War were black, and most of them were slaves. Slaves fought in the Revolutionary War with the intention of fighting for freedom. There was not much of a change for the slaves after the war because the South refused to cooperate. Slaves received freedom but the laws were not changed so the blacks were still not completely free.

during ww2 To my recollection of my history studies, Blacks fought in the Revolutionary War, the Civil War [both sides], the Spanish-American War, and although I cannot recall the names specifically, probably every other war the US has been involved in.During the Revolutionary War, but only in the North. The Southern slave owners feared giving their slaves guns for obvious reasons.
