How were people affected in the Great Depression?

Everyone was in some way affected during the Great Depression. Most Stock Market investors were left empty handed and blaming the government. Regular commons people were out of jobs and out of money.

These groups became the backbone of the Democratic Party for decades following the Depression. The New Deal measures have also an influence on the current Obama administration, in its attempts to stimulate the economy.
