If you mean those who died for their religious beliefs in the Roman era, they were either beheaded, strangled, (common forms of Roman execution) or if there were several to die at a time, they were eaten by wild beasts in the various arenas. The Romans loved public executions. If they were slaves or foreigners, they were crucified.
