Concord
False - from Concord the British returned to Boston. British reinforcements came out of Boston and met the returning column at Lexington, but the entire British force was ambushed the entire way back by Patriots, Minutemen and other militia who hurried to the scene as word spread of the fighting. The Patriots would fire at the marching British from behind low stone wall surrounding the farmers' fields by the road, then hurry ahead to get into position to fire again.
