Cuba could be considered the “most socialist” country on the planet, and they have nearly a direct democratic system, the people vote for new constitutions, vote on next to every major decision made, their president (although the president of Cuba is more of a figure head, the larger, also democratically-elected, commitee collectively comes up with the decisions to later be voted on by the people. They do this to avoid corruption and ensure no Dictatorship, like Batista, a former Cuban dictator, can come about again), don’t allow corporate funding to politicians, no voter suppression laws, direct voter process, rather than representative ”democracy”, govt. officials and representatives do not trump peoples’ votes, and others.

  1. They are both, while they have more of a representative democratic system, their is still a very evident theme of direct vote from the people. They also have, in their constitution, a drive to reach a communist society, or a society that is the best for mankind, through the process of going through a socialist state.
