The aim is the goal of the experiment, for example, you may be turning milk into plastic. So the aim is to turn milk into plastic. The hypothesis is what you THINK will happen. So you might think that the milk will turn into a substance quite unlike plastic. So the aim can be quite different to a hypothesis, or very similar!

What is a hypothesis and how is it derived this is a dang 7th graders work people?

A hypothesis is an educated guess based on facts and other empirical evidence. Generally a hypothesis what you assume will be the result of an experiment.

Types of Hypothesis and definition?

In formal design and analysis of experiments there are but two types of hypotheses: null and alternative. And one might argue there really is only one because when the null is properly defined, the alternative is automatically properly defined. The null hypothesis is a testable statement of conjecture. The purpose of the null hypothesis is to set the measurable goal for the experiment that follows to show that the null is not false. If the results of the experiment do not show that then the alternative hypothesis is by definition not false. Simple Example: Null: It's raining outside. Alt: It's NOT raining outside. NOTE: The NOT reverses the logic of the null. The experiment...walk outside. The test...if I get wet, the Null is not false. If I don't get wet, the alternative is not false. NOTE: I must have an experiment to test the hypothesis. Without a test it's not a valid hypothesis.

What experiment did Louis De Broglie do?

Louis de Broglie did not conduct a specific experiment but rather proposed a groundbreaking hypothesis in his 1924 doctoral thesis, suggesting that particles, such as electrons, exhibit wave-like properties, a concept known as wave-particle duality. This idea was supported by later experiments, such as the double-slit experiment, which demonstrated the wave behavior of electrons. De Broglie's work laid the foundation for quantum mechanics and earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1929. His hypothesis fundamentally changed the understanding of the nature of matter and light.

In what way are modernism and postmodernism similar?

Postmodernists think that something is broken in our culture.

How were kamikaze pilots and samurai similar in their aim in life and job?

A Samurai's job was to serve and if the time came die for his lord. A Kamikaze pilot's job was to die for his country.

Why is a hypothesis?

Type your answer here... Hypothesis is your guess/prediction to the results of an experiment and also in relation to the aim of the experiment.

Why is a hypothesis testable?

Hypothesis answer to the aim?

Your hypothesis is like a good guess or prediction of what you expect to find from carrying out your experiment - in other words, it is like an answer to your aim.

How do you write a hypothesis?

Think about the aim of the experiment. Relate the hypothesis to this. A hypothesis is an educated guess of what you think will happen in the experiment. For example, if you're doing an experiment on the quality of different fertilizers, choose which fertilizer you think will be most effective and state this as your hypothesis.

Describe how to develop a hypothesis and design an expriment?

find out the aim of the experiment first.

Why do you create the hypothesis?

it is to help keep you on track in the experiment, and to make sure you have something to aim for.

How long should the aim of a science experiment be?

If you are writing a practical report it can be very small! Often the aim is, simply stated, the hypothesis you are trying to test.

Proper format for a science experiment?

Goal/Aim- What are you aiming for?Hypothesis- The possible answer that you are trying to approve or disapprove.Equipment- Materials needed to do the experimentProcedure- The process of the experimentResults- The outcome of the experiment/what happened/was your hypothesis correct?Conclusion- Your concluding sentence

How are a hypothesis a prediction and an experiment similar?

A hypothesis is an educated guess about the outcome of an experiment, while a prediction is a specific statement about what you expect to happen. An experiment is a test designed to support or refute the hypothesis. All three are key components in the scientific method to understand the natural world.

What is tested in an experiment?

A hypothesis is tested by an experiment. A hypothesis is an estimate or guess about an outcome. The experiment proves whether the hypothesis is correct or not correct.

Should the hypothesis be supported or rejected based on the experiment?

That depends on the result of the experiment. The experiment is a way to test a hypothesis, and it's completely fine if the experiment disproves the hypothesis. Ideally, though, the experiment will support the hypothesis.

What tests your hypothesis?

By conducting your experiment, the result of that experiment either agrees with your hypothesis or disagrees your hypothesis.
