The most overwhelming slaughter achieved by American Indians against European settlers occurred during the Pequot War in the 1630s. One of the most significant events was the Mystic Massacre in 1637, where English colonists and their Native allies attacked the Pequot village, resulting in the deaths of around 500 Pequot men, women, and children. This brutal assault effectively decimated the Pequot tribe and marked a turning point in colonial conflicts, showcasing the intense resistance of Native Americans against European encroachment. The aftermath significantly reduced the Pequot population and altered the power dynamics in New England.
The most overwhelming slaughter achieved by American Indians is often attributed to the Battle of the Little Bighorn in 1876, where forces led by the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho tribes decisively defeated General George Custer and his 7th Cavalry. Custer's troops were outnumbered and overwhelmed, resulting in a devastating loss for the U.S. military. The battle is remembered as a significant victory for Native American forces during the Plains Indian Wars, showcasing their tactical prowess and unity against a common adversary.

The Battle of Wabash, often called Harmer's Defeat was the most overwhelming slaughter ever achieved by American Indians against the US Army. General Harmer gathered together 1,460 regulars and militia with the goal of attacking the Miami tribe at what is now Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Miami got word of the attack, and fled carrying as many supplies as possible. General Harmer sent out scouts who ran across an Indian on horseback. The Indian, who was a decoy, fled down a small path. Harmer summoned his men, and were led to a marshy area where they could neither pursue or retreat easily. The 100 Miami slaughtered most of the militia.
