It might be wiser to accept the formal surrender on 02 September 1945; for the SIMPLE reason, many Japanese fighting men (Sailors, Marines, Pilots, Soldiers, etc.) may NOT HAVE GOTTEN THE WORD during August 15 thru August 31st.
