The bombs killed an estimated 200.000 people. But seeing the other option available, president Truman made the right decision:
the 33rd President of the United States, Harry S Truman from Missouri.Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the Manhattan Project, the massive undertaking by the US, Canada and Great Britain that created the first atomic "pile," the first sustained, controlled, man-made nuclear fission reaction, and the first atomic explosive device. Implicit in his authorization is his intent to use it against a foreign enemy. Roosevelt died just three months before the Trinity "shot," the first detonation of an atomic warhead in the New Mexico desert in July 1945.Harry S. Truman, FDR's vice president, had been essentially kept in the dark with regard to the atomic bomb until Roosevelt's death. Once he became president in April 1945, however, he was quickly apprised of the status of the bomb project, and he insisted on daily reports about it. After the Trinity "shot," Truman took the decision to use the two remaining bombs against Japan.
Harry S. Truman became the 33rd president of the United States upon Franklin D. Roosevelt's death in April 1945. He authorized the use of atomic bombs against Japan in August 1945, which played a significant role in ending World War II. Truman was later elected president in his own right in 1948.
President Truman said, he needed to end the war and collapse Japan's means to make war ever again.
he was very wrong he should have dropped it on just the government.
That scenario has happened exactly four times as of 2017, with Theodore Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry Truman, and Lyndon Johnson.

Truman
President Truman stated that he wanted to end the war and collapse Japan's means to make war ever again.
We have had many great Presidents and many bad ones as well. So it is difficult to tell who truly deserves the rank of “the greatest President” but I will try without much bias. First off, Harry S. Truman was a fantastic and definitely underrated President. Truman became President when Franklin D. Roosevelt suddenly died. He served two terms in the U.S Senate representing Missouri and after that a few months as VP. Truman helped improve the economy though it was nothing like Eisenhower, Kennedy, Trump or Reagan. It was still improvements to a war rocked nation. Speaking of war Truman helped win and end World War Two. Though Germany was mainly defeated by President Franklin Roosevelt he finished the job with the aid of the Soviet Union. Truman’s decision to drop the atomic bomb was the tough but right decision. Though Truman did declare war in Korea is was probably the right thing and the US would get uninvolved soon after. Truman also had an 88 approval rating the highest approval rating of any president! Finally, Truman was an admirable guy and smart man. He is heavily underrated with FDR and Eisenhower right before and after but still was a great President.
It was a U.S. Government plan of 1946 to regulate atomic energy. President Truman, Bernard Baruch, Dean Acheson and David Lilienthal were involved.
Yes, Harry Truman became the new president after Franklin D. Roosevelt. He assumed office on April 12, 1945, following Roosevelt's death. Truman, who was serving as vice president at the time, completed Roosevelt's term and was later elected to a full term in his own right.
he was very wrong he should have dropped it on just the government.
Most people think so. They say that we didn't start the war. President Truman was very sure in his statement when he said that he wanted the war to end quickly and to take the means for Japan to make war again.
Right Now.
