The Australian flag has not changed noticeably since it was first designed. After the Commonwealth of Australia was proclaimed on 1 January 1901, the Commonwealth government held a design competition for a new national flag. There were 32,000 entries in the competition, and most featured the Union Jack, the Southern Cross, or native animals. Five almost identical entries were selected to share the 200 pound prize.
On 3 September 1901, the new Australian flag flew for the first time from the top of the Exhibition Building in Melbourne. The flag was simplified, and approved by King Edward VII in 1902.

The New Zealand flag is very like the Australian flag. The only noticeable differences are the absence of the "commonwealth star" and the fifth small star (epsilon crucis), and the fact that the stars on the New Zealand flag all have a red "core" surrounded by a white border.
They are very different. The flag of the United Kingdom, which is referred to as the British flag, appears in the top left corner of the Australian flag. The rest of the Australian flag is blue and has some stars on it, including some representing the Southern Cross, which is a constellation, and the Commonwealth Star.
Prior to the Australian flag, all the colonies of Australia observed the Brirish flag.
The current Australian flag was design in 1900 for a British overseas possession and for that purpose it was perfectly valid . But today Australia is a completely separate country in its own right ( see Australia Acts 1986 ) . The flag should indicate our current status - not what we once were .
The current Australian flag was designed in 1901 by British subjects living in a British overseas possession . Australians are no longer British subjects and Australia is now a Sovereign Independant Nation in its own right . But the design of the flag has not changed to reflect the new status . It now implies a false allegiance . To answer the question in reference to expressing the question as a debating topic: "The Australian flag is not relevant to Australia".
The colors on the Australian flag are red, blue and white.

No flag has to be displayed along another flag. That doesn't make sense at all.I'm not sure if you're complaining like "Does the Aboriginal Flag have to be displayed along with Australian Flag?" or "Does the Aboriginal Flag have to be displayed along with Australian Flag?" but no.
