The human race arose originally in Africa, so it is most probable these ancestors were as black as the people living there now.

It is not likely these people had gods, as the earliest religion was animism, based on knowledge of spirits in the environment. Spirits are not gods, just a form of personification in nature.

They saw spirits in nature as they deified everything in nature as that's were the concept of God came from. When they finally landed in Kemet/Egypt they started to advance the God concept. Actually the 1st concept of God was of a woman as that's where life comes from.

The color of the skin as well as their habits and customs was dependent upon the amount of sunshine they were exposed to. The natural pigmentation of the body reacted to this stimulus (sun) and the resulting color of the skin was the result.
