It was the English Nation. Because the English got Peter Stuvesant to surender because he had nothing, the English had warships,guns,soldiers, and more.

He did not surrender he said ''I would rather be carried to my grave'',he said.

he did not surrender an till the English got him to surrender, the English did not shoot one bullet or cannon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
