Lebensraum is "living room". Room to grow, expand.
Lebensraum
Lebensraum, meaning 'living space' was part of the Nazis' expansionist ideology and was one of Hitler's major political ideals. Basically Hitler wanted to acquire extra space so that the German population could grow. This involved getting land and raw materials. Therefore Hitler's plan in achieving lebensraum for the German people involved invading countries to the East of Germany and to then repopulate those areas with German people. Polish, Russian and other Slavic populations, who Hitler viewed as inferior, were then to be exterminated through starvation and replaced by the German upper class. The practical implementation of the lebensraum concept started in 1939 with Germany's occupation of Poland. This also led to the launching of Operation Barbarossa in June, 1941. Some also see Hitler's idea of lebensraum as part of a larger ideal of his for world domination.
Lebensraum
"Lebensraum" which means 'living room' .
Hitler expected the German army, or Wehrmacht, to be the backbone of his aggressive foreign policy and conquest of territories. He believed that the army would secure and expand German living space, or "Lebensraum," through military force. Hitler viewed the army as vital for the domination and control of Europe under Nazi Germany.
Lebensraum is just German for "living space." And if you look back in history, Hitler did not want Jews anywhere. But not just Jews... blacks, catholics, etc.
Hitler wanted "Lebensraum" (meaning "living room") for the German people. This was the "official" base for all of Hitler's invasions.
Lebensraum
The main goal was to expand the German Lebensraum (vital space)
Western border region of Czechoslovakia where about 3 million German-speaking people lived; a second target of Hitler's lebensraum
Lebensraum means living space towards the east where polish Slavs and Russian predominate and where Hitler spelled out in his writings that Germany should take over to allow German farmers to resettle and help feed a growing German population. There were large ethnic German populations in the east especially around the Volga region of the Soviet Union that Hitler hoped to link up to.
