The five freedoms are: Speech, Religeon, Press, Assembly, and petitioning the government for a redress of grievances.

Speech simply means that you are allowed to speak out about whatever you choose. You cannot be punished for having a difference of opinion.

Religion means that you have the freedom to choose your religion, it can't be dictated to you by the government.

Press means that you have the right to report whatever you wish in newspapers, on television, internet, books, etc.

Assembly means that you have the right to peaceably gather for protest, form clubs, unions etc.

Freedom of Petitioning means that you have the right to be heard by your government leaders and that they cannot take measures to prevent you from saying what is grieving you. ie. Unfair taxes, etc.
