Why do you acknowledge Captain Cook as Australia's discoverer?

James Cook, who was not even a captain when he charted Australia's eastern coast, was given the credit (incorrectly) for discovering Australia because it was upon his recommendation that Australia was actually settled by the British. Cook charted the eastern coast of Australia, and he was the one who claimed it in the name of Great Britain in 1770, calling it New South Wales. He charted the east coast between April and August of that year. For these reasons, Cook is often wrongly credited with discovering Australia. There were several Dutch and French explorers who landed on Australia's shores long before Cook even set sail, and Cook was not even the first Englishman to sight Australia, with that honour going to William Dampier. The Dutch did not make any formal claim to the continent, and the French claim was not substantiated. Because Australia had been settled by the British, and there was a continuing loyalty to the British, for years Australian schoolchildren were taught that Captain Cook discovered Australia.

Why did the Kanakas come to Australia?

Aborigians or Indigenous Australians have been on that continent at least 40,000 years and that is even before the continent was discovered by Dutch explorers in 17th century and that is even before British came to Australia in late 18th century. The real question should be; "WHEN" DID ABORIGIANS CAME TO AUSTRALIA?

Who discovered the Native Americans and where did they come from?

The inhabitants f an area are not "discovered" they have a first contact with explorers. In the case of the Americas, initial contact with native populations was with Vikings in about 1000 CE, Basque fisheren in the 12 to 13 hundreds or Columbus at the end of the 14 hundreds. Some anecdotal evidence exists that Phoenicians may have reached North America before the Vikings and thet Chinese explorers may have visited the west coat before Columbus visited the east coast..

What was the main reason European countries desired African slaves?

I don't think they "desired" African slaves. At first many explorers brought back people from places they had visited on their voyages, but most of them died before the explorers could get the new slaves back to europe. So i don't think the African slaves were really targeted, it was just from where the explorers sailed to.
