Operation Overlord ("D-day attack").

Before that Germany fought on one front at a time: Poland 1939, Scandinavia 1940, France 1940, Balkan 1941, Soviet 1941-.

Taking over the North African war from the Italians created a second front in 1941, but it wasn't a two-front war where the forces were enclosed.

From 1944 it became a real two-front war, when allied forces advanced from both east and west.
