Battle of New Orleans was fought and won by the USA after the treaty was signed in Ghent, but before true peace, as the treaty was not ratified until the next year, in 1815, so it is part of the war, but was not the deciding factor. The USA accomplished its goal of stopping the British impressment of American sailors, and Britain succeeded in defending Canada, so no one lost. This war settled some of the disputed territories, as the USA wanted all of North America, and Britain wanted the US to stay on the East coast. The war was a DRAW.
