Hard to tell from more than 3,000 years ago, but likely it was'nt your standard house cat that you have today. Probably, since Egypt is located in Africa, it was not far from one of the wild cat variety that is small and went smaller over decades of mutations, finally culmination in a hearty breed of it's own, through it's own selective breeding. What they strongly resemble in the art of the country, is our current "oriental breeds". Included in these is the "Mau", which is rather larger and more "crazy, nuts" in behavior. A stinker to handle in the house, but definitely a truly wonderful breed.
