Adult fiction refers to imaginative prose that has been written for adult readers. Within the adult fiction section of a library, books are may be divided into the following categories groups:
- Mystery
- Romance
- Western
- Science Fiction / Fantasy
- Suspense / Thriller
- Horror
- General Fiction
- Short Stories
- Historical
- Local (e.g. Canadiana)
Non-Fiction crime books would generally be found in the non-fiction section in the library and ordered by the author's surname. Of course if they are fictional crime books they would be found in the fiction section.
An encyclopedia will be located in a specific part of the library called the reference section. This area is reserved for non fiction reference books such as dictionaries, thesaurus volumes and encyclopedias. These books may not be checked out and taken home by any library patron but must instead be utilized on the library premises only.

If you know the author's last name, you can look for the book in the section of the library that is organized by the author's last name, typically found in the non-fiction or fiction sections. Libraries often use the Dewey Decimal System or the Library of Congress Classification to categorize books, allowing you to locate them easily. Look for the corresponding call number that begins with the author's last name to find the specific book you need.

Try getting it at a local library in the young adult section! You should be able to find it there!

I worked in the library in the summer and from my knowledge I would suggest you go in the Children's Fiction section. Look under D for Kate DiCamillo.
A person can go to the library and find the history on African Wars. It would be found in the Non-Fiction section, under Africa and America's history.
Diagrams of the nervous system are often found in medical or educational textbooks. You can find these diagrams in your local library in the non-fiction section.

One can easily find a book on skateboarding tricks at your local library. Just look on their catalog system for one. It would be found in the non-fiction section.
