The Manchu were able to infiltrate the ranks of the Ming Dynasty, enlisting Ming officials as advisors. By 1636, the Manchu campaign had been so successful, their leader was able to declare the beginning of the Qing Dynasty. In addition, defeat of traditional ally, Korea by Manchu forces lead to reunification of the Ming Dynasty by Korean officials.
