With that said however, The Union did have more of a preparation than the Confederacy. here are some example:1. Two significant factors that ultimately hurt the Southern cause during the Civil War were the South's lack of industrial resources and the Union's naval blockade. The South's agrarian economy struggled to produce the necessary supplies and munitions for prolonged warfare, while the blockade severely limited their ability to trade cotton for goods and arms. Additionally, the South faced challenges in manpower, as many soldiers were needed for agricultural work, further diminishing their military capabilities.

The two sides that fought in the Civil War were the North (Union) and the South (Confederacy). The North was fighting to unite the country again and to end slavery. While the South was fighting to keep slavery. The South relied heavily on slavery because many people lived on huge plantations that required much labor, so slavery was a cheap way to acquire that amount of labor that was needed.
