Make wheels, of course!

Wheelwrights start with a hub made on a lathe from properly aged wood such as elm. A tapered reamer opens the center to get a metal bearing. A wheelwright uses a chisel to create rectangular spoke holes around the circumference of the wheel. Carved from woods like ash, the spokes bend to meet a rim of wooden arches that have holes drilled in them. These are called "fellies." And they join to form a perfect circle.

A blacksmith would then supply a big hoop of iron, like a metal hula hoop, precisely

the size of the fellies. The wheelwright heats the iron hoop, which expands just

enough to be hammered on with a heavy hammer. He then wets the wheel with

water, which makes the hoop shrink to the size of the felly, fitting it on.
