For the most part, the poor wore homemade clothes. They couldn't afford to buy clothes so made themselves clothing out of things like deer skin. The people would hunt the deer, eat the meat, and use the skins to make clothes, shoes, and boots.

Well tricorn hats were a pretty big deal back then. I'm guessing poor people wore a lot of brown colored clothing or something. Waistcoats (or vests as they're called today) were popular back then, too. The poor people pretty much wore the same as the rich, except their clothing was more bland and didn't have as much detailing to it.
