The Battle of the Alamo lasted nearly two weeks, from February 23 to March 6, 1836. This pivotal confrontation took place during the Texas Revolution, where a small group of Texan defenders, including the famous frontiersman Davy Crockett, fought against the vastly larger Mexican forces led by General Antonio López de Santa Anna. The battle ended tragically for the defenders, as all of them were killed, which ultimately galvanized Texan resistance and led to their victory at the Battle of San Jacinto.
