The tsar, particularly Tsar Nicholas II, appeared incompetent to his people due to his poor handling of key events, such as the Russo-Japanese War, which ended in a humiliating defeat for Russia. His inability to address domestic issues, including widespread poverty and social unrest, further fueled discontent. Additionally, his decision to take personal command of the military during World War I, despite lacking military experience, led to disastrous outcomes and heightened public frustration. This combination of military failures and social neglect eroded the confidence of the Russian people in his leadership.
Tsar Nicholas II's relationship with his people was very poor, he didn't care that they were sitting on the sidewalk, that they had no food and very bad wages.

bloody Sunday was a turning point because it killed the people's faith and trust in the tsar (tsar is leader in Russia)
The tsar of Russia was dethroned because the people, peasants, did not think that he knew what was best for them. The peasants were living in poverty, but the tsar was living in wealth. They also thought this was unfair, and that it was wrong for him to be rich and rule a country he didn't understand. The people forced the tsar to dethrone, and took him and his family somewhere where the population was low, and after a while, shot the whole family and the tsar. They just wanted to forget that the former tsar never existed.

Today's historians do not generally see him as the depraved and evil influence on the Tsar's family that his enemies at the time made him out to be. His advice to the Tsar and Tsarina is now seen as a mixture of sometimes conservative, sometimes very clear-headed advice. His influence on the health of the Tsar's son is - then as well as now - generally seen as positive. With all that said, the problem about viewing Rasputin, and what is myth vs facts about him, remain much of a mystery. As example, his seemingly immunity to attempts to kill him seem a bit "supernatural." Caution seems to be the best advice concerning Rasputin's place in history.
