What did the vikings do in their pastimes?

On long winter nights, they told stories about their own adventures or of viking gods fighting with giants. The kids played a game similar to Chess called Hnefatafl and a throwing games called King, like bola. They also invented their own games to play.

Mostly, the men went on raiding trips and raided local towns and villages on the coast of the area around their hometown and other coastal towns near or around their own village. Women mostly stayed at home and took care of the children.
