The VC were guerrillas and a separate fighting force from the NVA (North Viet Regular Army). They had, due to their inherent organization, to fight utilizing guerrilla tactics (hit and run); and because they were NOT a regular army they had no supply system (as did the NVA) and had to exist upon captured weapons and equipment. Although at times they did receive wpns/equipment from North Vietnam...the priority was the North's own army (NVA). Additionally, the VC had no artillery nor armor (tanks)...if they did it was a "field expedient" (something done at the moment & borrowed from the NVA).
All of the above translates to fighting with "what they can get their hands on." And guerrillas through-out history (from the Swamp Fox to Quantrills raiders) have had to fight the same way.
They didn't. The NVA won the war when they drove their tanks thru the South Viet capital.
The Vietcong was an elusive enemy, because they didn't fight with a traditional army. Their fighters hid, spread out, regrouped, etc in a highly dense rain forest, making it very difficult for the foreign soldiers (US Americans mostly) to find and fight them.
the Vietnam war was not an American war. we got in it to fight off communism. and the vietcong and north vietnamese worked together to fight us, and south vietnamese were hardly using their army to fight, they were letting us do all of it. and Americans didnt want to go die for a lost cause.
they were the south vietnamese irregulars
The Vietcong were well supplied with Soviet military technology to counter that of the US; in addition, they were able to improvise simpler but effective weapons. And lots of them died. Remember, there were roughly a million Vietnamese deaths in the war, as compared to a mere 50,000 for US soldiers. Clearly, American military technology was very effective. The Vietnamese paid a very high price for their military victory.
the Us was better than the vietcong in military it was guerilla warfare that was over the Us
After the US withdrew from Vietnam the Vietcong came into power. South Vietnam fell under communist rule by the Vietcong.
Find them, destroy them (Search and Destroy).

The significance of Vietnamization was that it allowed U.S. troops to withdraw without actually losing the Vietnam War by training the Southern Vietnamese to fight the Vietminh and Vietcong instead of the US troops.
They are still there they were the victors in the war with the US and now rule Vietnam.
i wish i knew the answer
us good to fight against nothing! us good to fight FOR! us think glass half full.
