SSV before the name of the ship Normandy means 'space shuttle vehicle'.
The Battle for Normandy was fought in Normandy, France.
When William invaded England and became its king he was also the Duke of Normandy. Normandy is, and was, part of France and as duke he was, in theory, a servant of the King of France. Integrating England and Normandy would either mean England was part of Normandy and therefore part of France, or Normandy was part of England, which would not have gone down well with the King of France who, in theory, own it.
Normandy, or Beaches of Normandy
Normandy was conquered by the Vikings. It's called Normandy because it means "land of the Northmen".
Neither of those were invaded. Harald Hadraada invaded England first; William Duke of Normandy invaded afterwards if thats what you mean. William won in the end.
