There are Old Towns designated in cities around the world. They often have historical sites that have been renovated to commemorate the architecture and origins of the early residents. For example Ciudad Colonial in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic is a World Heritage Site representing the earliest European City in the Americas. Poland has 11 different Old Towns four of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Old Town Albuquerque is an excellent example that includes the 1793 San Felipe de Neri Church, numerous museums, restaurants and shops. The Plaza is the prime location for summer weddings and it is also a very popular tourist destination.
