I have a black one of these in .38 special and was recently searching the internet and came across some results from an auction house that sold a black one for $250. There is currently an auction on Gunbroker.com (8/19/08) for a chrome one and the guy is asking between $195 and $250. Hope this helps you out a bit. I was surprised. I think I bought mine for about $75 several years ago at a gun show. To hell with the stock market... BUY GUNS!
The 2008 BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES does not list the .38 but, it does list the .22LR version of the derringer and gives it a value of $150 in 100% condition down to $85 in 90% condition.
