It could be a 'fez', a brimless felt hat which originated in Morocco and is often seen being worn by men in several countries in northern Africa.

[Clarifying info] While it is a fez, the Egyptians call this type of hat a Tarboosh. Fez is the name given to this type of hat in Morocco. For what it's worth they call it a Terpush in Turkey.

Early pharaos were depicted with either one of two separate crowns: the 'red' or Deshret crown and the 'white' or Hedjet crown. Later, the two crowns were combined in pictures, and the combined crown was called the Pschent crown.

It is uncertain if the pharaos ever actually wore any of these crowns in real life: not an single one has ever turned up in royal tombs, not even in the tomb of Tuthankamen that contained all other regalia and every conceivable commodity that the pharao might ever need in the afterlife.
