With regards to the US Civil War, many historians prefer to use the term of The War Between the States. For some historians, what is generally called the US Civil War, is not an accurate use of the term "civil war".
No, there was another war, The Civil War, over that issue.

No need to "over-use" that "undeclared war..." term. If folks go by that term, people will begin to have troubles defining the American Civil War (aka US Civil War); for, much to the chagrin of Civil War buffs...the Civil War wasn't a declared war either. And by the way, the Civil War was officially called the "War of the Rebellion" (NOT the Civil War). One more note: there hasn't been a US declared war since WWII! So who won the Vietnam War? North Vietnam won the war!
There was no US declaration of war during the US Civil War (Amerian Civil War). No US declaration of war for any wars after December 1941.

There is no US Civil War vessel named Damn Yankee. There is a musical named Damn Yankee. During the Civil War this term was meant in a derogatory fashion against northerners.
Probably not. There is nothing that could spark a Civil War. Although we get in war with neighboring countries someday, but it is very unlikely.
The US war was "a civil war" in that factions within the country fought for supremacy. It is likely that US ethnocentrism made it unnecessary to come up with any other name, the English Civil War having at least three names and few other contemporary conflicts having the same drastic territorial schism. In the North, the war was referred to by some participants as the "War of the Rebellion", but all of them have since passed away. Another alternate was "War Between the States".The most common international term is American Civil War, to differentiate it from the English or Spanish wars
