So he started Cray Computer Corporation in 1990.Only one Cray-3 was ever built, it was delivered in 1993 and had many problems.Work on the Cray-4 began immediately but the company went bankrupt in 1995 before it was finished.He started a new company, SRC Computers, in an attempt to design of his own massively parallel supercomputers. Design had barely started when Cray died as a result of a car accident in 1996.
