The ancient Egyptian religion includes two different and unrelated gods known today as Hapi or Hapy.
The first was a son of Horus, whose name is written in hieroglyphs that include a strange and uncertain sign which may be part of a steering-oar or rudder from a ship. He is depicted with the head of a baboon and is one of the minor gods who protected the organs of a mummy.
The second Hapi is a god of the Nile river and his name is written with the hieroglyphs for h.'.p.y, plus the standard sign for a canal or watercourse. He is shown as a man (or pair of men) with blue or green skin and water-plants growing from the top of his head. He is shown symbolically tying together Upper and Lower Egypt. His many symbols include the papyrus plant, a frog and a hippopotamus.
Apis (or Hapis).
In some cases he is green and blue. Otherwise he is skin color. He holds an ankh in his hand. He has the head of a crocodile. There are two hapis. One of Upper Egypt and one of lower Egypt. To give a flood for the Nile River.
Apis (or Hapis).
The cow could represent many deities of ancient Egypt from Hathor to Hapis/Apis.
Apis is a god from Egyptian mythology, and can be spelled either Apis or Hapis. This god is represented by the animal the bull, and actual bulls were often used as a ritual sacrifice.
Ah, what a lovely question! Hapi was a god in ancient Egyptian mythology, often associated with the annual flooding of the Nile River. While Hapi was not typically depicted as having children in the traditional sense, they were seen as a provider of nourishment and fertility to the land through the flooding of the river, which in a way can be seen as nurturing all life that depended on the Nile's waters.
Father's Day in Welsh is Diwrnod y Tadau.
