Honolulu International is the closest airport to Pearl Harbor. (Pearl Harbor is what is sounds like- a harbor for ships. )

The Military airfields at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Japanese attack were Ford Island Naval Air Station (adjacent to Battleship Row), and Hickam Field (next to Honolulu and the entrance to Pearl Harbor). Wheeler Field, a major US Army Air Force installation at the center of the island of Oahu, was also severely attacked, as was Bellows Field (on the South East edge of Oahu), Kaneohe Naval Air Station (Eastern Oahu coast) and Ewa Marine Corps Air Station (on the western edge of Pearl Harbor bay).

Kaneohe is now a state park, Bellows a military recreation area, and Ewa was abandoned in the 1950s. Wheeler is a National Historic Landmark as well as a training base for the Army now. Ford Island NAS is now a Naval Auxiliary Landing Field, and, as such, operates almost exclusively general aviation flights. Hickam Field is still a major US Air Force Base, home of the US Pacific Air Forces command.

Honolulu International Airport is located immediately adjacent to the city of Honolulu, and is on the southern ocean coast, right next to the entrance to Pearl Harbor. The new general-aviation airport of Kaneohe is located on the South West corner of Oahu, a couple of miles from the Pearl Harbor entrance.
