Only food produced according to the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) standards can be labeled as organic. These foods must be certified by an independent body if the producer produces more than $5000 worth. The certification process is time consuming and requires records to be kept. These foods do not use chemical pesticides, sewage sludge, chemical fertilizers. They may not be genetically engineered, nor irradiated.
The natural food industry is not regulated. However, there are some rules that the labeling may not be deceptive. If a product has a natural ingredient in it, the manufacturer can identify the ingredient as natural. But, not the whole product.
Natural raised animals are meeting a need in the market place. Consumers expect that these products are without pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics. And even more so that they are raised using sound environmental practices. As a result, even without Federal regulation, producers are meeting the demands of the consumers in greater numbers.
The difference is Clothes, food, government ect.
ORGANIC WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE TO BETTER FOR YOU CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT IT IS ALL NATURAL, WHEN PRODUCE HAS ADDED CHEMICALS. ALTHOUGH ORGANIC IS BETTER, IT DOESN'T HURT TO EAT PRODUCE, IT'S JUST NOT AS HEALTHY CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT ORGANIC FOOD COSTS MORE.
Organic food is better than non-organic because it contains more nutrients.
brown ppl eat chinese food
The difference between calories and Calories is that calories with a lowercase "c" refer to the energy content in food, while Calories with an uppercase "C" represent kilocalories, which are commonly used to measure the energy content of food. 1 Calorie is equal to 1,000 calories.
All food is organic - unless you consider synthetic additives as food.
There are many opposing viewpoints on this.
there isn't any difference
All food is organic except for mineral supplements. Man has been growing food organically since the birth of farming about 50,000 years ago. The only difference between food's organic status is down to whether the fertilisers are derived from natural plant and animal waste or from oil based nitrogenous compounds. Also whether pesticides were approved or not for organic certification.
natural has no added chemicals, colours etc.. artificial has, like sweetners, salts, colours etc..
organic??
A natural organic food diet is where a person goes on a diet strictly eating food that is not processed and fresh from nature. It is good for your health and cheaper!
The difference between organic and genetically modified food is like the difference between night and day. GMO food is of unknown effect when consumed by the body, and it is presumed to be dangerous. Organic food is as natural as food gets, with no pesticides or any genetically modified organisms. Organic food tends to taste a lot better than GM food.
Organic or all natural
Natural is not specifically defined in food production, so it really does not mean much at all. Organic is a very specific way of growing foods that does not use chemical (man-made) pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Food labeling of organic foods is a bit complicated. The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) allows chemicals to be used on organic foods in certain situations, so foods labeled "USDA organic" could have had chemicals used on them, but certainly not the amounts used on non-organic foods, and they may not be true organic foods. There would be no way to know if chemicals were used. If a food is labeled "organic," it likely is not totally organic. According to the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) it only has to contain 70% organic ingredients. Other ingredients can have GMOs or anything. In order to be 100% organic, food must be labeled "100% organic."
Organic foods have a legal definition- natural foods do not. To label a food as organic, it must be grown/produced without pesticides, herbicides, hormones, or antibiotics, and cannot contain certain ingredients. The term "natural" can be applied to any food at all.
Pocessed foods are any foods that foods that are not in their natural state. This includes most foods that are not and some foods that are around the perameter of grocery stores. Some examples are canned foods, frozen foods, condiments, etc. These foods can be organic or inorganic. Organic foods have been grown without the use of synthetic fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.
