How many times has kohala erupted?

Kohala has not erupted in Holocene times (within the last 10,000 years), and is believed to have last erupted between 240,000 and 120,000 years ago. It is the oldest volcano above sea level on the big island of Hawaii. The history of eruption however should be very similar in ancient times to that of Mauna Loa and Kilauea today. The volcano would have built a broad shield profile like the other Hawaiian volcanoes. The edxact number of eruptions is not known but estimated based off what we know of other Hawaiian volcanoes it would have had thousands of eruptions before going quiet for so long. There is a chance that the volcano can go through a rejuvination stage like some other volcanoes in Hawaii, however what triggers these very late stage eruptions and which volcanoes will have them is not known.
