hello! my wife is Hungarian-American and our 3 kids are bilingual; as such I have picked up a bit of Magyar (Hungarian) myself over the last 11 years. The word "Orszag" in Hungarian is put at the end of a country's name to indicate "country" or "Republic" or "the land of the __"; as an example the country of Hungary spoken in Hungarian is "Magyar-orszag": "the land of the Magyars/Hungarians". The USA would be "America-orszag": the land of the Americans. etc etc. also, as I am told over and over again by my wife & in laws, the SZ in a word will always indicate a Hungarian/Magyar word. SO... the word ORSZAG is of Hungarian orgin. bye: richard8000milesaway@hotmail.com
