They aren't known for anything, and their significance is just that they borrow a name from a famous Japanese historical figure.
Oda Nobunaga was a Daimyo who excelled at war, and had the idea for a Japan united under one ruler (himself, of course). He died before he could finish though, and his successor, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, finished the job and became the first to rule the entire country since the late 1400's.
He wasn't a swordsmith, nor were any of his swords special (for any reason other than that they belonged to such a famous person, of course), and a quick Google search shows me about a dozen different "Oda Nobunaga Katana" for sale, anywhere from $50-$600.
So basically, it would be like selling a "Schwarzenegger Shotgun" a few hundred years from now, they're just using the name so people will think it's special.

Wakizashi
Samurai's are known for their work with swords. There are three general ways of describing swords a short sword (less than 12 inches long) is called a Tanto, and Wakisashi is 12 to 24 inches long and a Katana is longer than 24 inches. Most samurai carried a Katana and a Wakisashi with them. Some samurai also used bow and arrows. Longbowed samurais were very useful.
A sword (katana) was, and still is, a popular souvenir.

There are swords that are known to be sharper than a Katana, such as the Damascus steel sword or the Ulfberht sword. These swords are crafted using different techniques and materials that can create a sharper edge than that of a traditional Katana.
