Nagasaki was the turning point to end the war. The second atomic bomb, Fat Boy was dropped on Nagasaki two or three days after Hiroshima was bombed. Emperor Hirohito realized he had to surrender considering there was a probability the US could have more atomic bombs and totally destroy his empire. He had sworn to protect the throne and the Empire so he surrendered.
